Weekly Racing
We plan to race as a fleet on Tuesday evenings, running our own races.
First signal is at 18:00 hours, three minute count down. We start at 18:03 hours.
Expect to sail multiple races. Course will be posted at the committe boat.
Courses tend to be short windward/leeward. See the Course Map for marks.
Results are listed on the Havre de Grace Yacht Club web page.
We plan to race with the Havre de Grace Yacht Club fleet occasionally on Thursday evenings:
First signal is at 18:15 hours, five minute count down. We start at 18:20 hours.
We sail with the first start in the Daysailer start. Our course board on the committe boat is labeled with a triangle.
Courses tend to be windward/leeward. See the Course Map for marks.
If the symbols on the course board are red, pass the marks to port; if green, pass to starboard.
We finish by crossing a line between the flagpole at the marina and the orange mooring ball, the "X" mark.
If the X mark is the last symbol on the course board, it only has to be passed at the finish. Often, the X mark is included in the course to give the Committe the option of shortening the race if conditions warrent.
We race with the Stars. There are typically between 10 and 15 boats on the start line.
